Good To Go?

Well I came home on Friday to a simple letter from BCBS stating:

Dear Member:
After careful review by the Clinical Coordination Department of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, I am pleased to inform you that we have approved the request for prior authorization of hospital services made of your behalf.  Does anyone else have BCBS?  Is this the beloved approval letter I've been stalking the mail for?  The only problem is the date of service is my old date.  Hopefully it's just a technicality and I can break out my happy dance on schedule.

Today is also the first day of my "prep" diet.  I've dedicated June to getting my head right.  For the last couple of months I've been willy nilly with my food choices.  I've gained at least five or six pounds since my initial appointment back in March. I've purposely stayed away from the scale due to the guilt of eating everything in my path.  Well that IS going to end.

My Goal is to make better food choices and stop going to bed with a brownie sundae

  3. That sounds just like the approval I got from BCBS of florida...yea!!! before I had my surgery, My doctor told me that the date they submitted for the surgery was just an estimation and that my approval was valid for 1 year, so hopefully the different date will not be an issue. Are you still on for August? Who knows, maybe you can get in sooner!!! Woo-Hoo!

  4. "...we have approved the request for prior authorization of hospital services made of your behalf." I have NO IDEA what that means! Geez...how hard is it to just speak clearly?

  5. I called my doctor's office and spoke to the rudest person on the planet. She informed me that #1-The date makes no difference, #2-I was submitted for the bypass. #3-I need to decided what I want done because the whole thing needs to be re-submitted anyway.

I was torn between the band and the sleeve but bypass was never discussed. I'm now focused on reporting Ms. Happy Pants to her Manager. Sucks that we both work in the same place and I know a few people she doesn't :)
